Zero-Set
A downloadable game for Windows, macOS, and Linux
EVERY TRACK IS AN EQUATION
ZERO SET is anti-grav racing in the WipEout and F-Zero mould, on roads drawn from curves: a lemniscate, a limaçon, trefoils and torus knots, a tennis ball's seam, and three Möbius strips, where lap two is on the underside and the floor is overhead.
Everything is wireframe. The ships, the tracks, the planet in the sky and every word on screen are glowing lines. Nothing is a sprite.
WHAT'S IN IT
• 24 tracks in four cups: AXIOM, THEOREM, TOPOLOGY and INFINITY
• Campaign: win your way through the cups and open eight more racers, one every three races
• Single race, time trial, and CONTINUUM: an endless road that morphs from one equation into the next
• 12 racers, each its own wireframe ship with its own top speed, thrust and grip
• Contact: craft knock each other about, nose to tail and side by side
• One energy bar for shield and boost: boost burns it, knocks and rail scrapes drain it, and at zero your shields are down
• Split screen for 1 to 4 players, on keyboard and pads
• Online for up to 8, through a shared server list
• Four synthesized songs, and a beat pulse on the road (you can turn it off)
CONTROLS
Thrust: W or Up arrow (pad: RT or A)
Brake: S or Down arrow (pad: LT)
Steer: A / D or Left / Right (pad: left stick)
Boost: Space (pad: RB or X)
Pause: Esc (pad: Start)
Split screen: player 1 on WASD, player 2 on the arrows (boost on Enter), players 3 and 4 on pads.
NOTES
Alpha. No sound effects yet, only music. Coming: sound, speed pads, ghosts in time trial, rebindable controls.
Mac: the app isn't signed by Apple. Right-click ZERO SET.app and choose Open the first time.
Made by sp00nz. Everything in it, the music included, is generated in code.
